Frank is the CEO of Save2Obsidian. They lead the team and its work on note syncing. You can find them on the Obsidian forum as @frankmiller — that is the account behind the plugin, and the fastest place to reach a person rather than a support inbox.
Why we built Save2Obsidian
Saving something you find on X usually means a screenshot, a bookmark you never revisit, or a link pasted somewhere you will not look again. None of those end up in the notebook where your thinking actually happens.
So we made the save action something you already do without thinking: reply to the post. Mention @save2obsidian and the post — with its thread context and images — arrives in your vault as a markdown note you can link, tag, and search like anything else you wrote.
How we approach this
Note syncing is unglamorous work, and it is mostly about the details: preserving thread structure instead of flattening it, keeping images with the note, and asking for the narrowest permissions that make the feature work. Save2Obsidian requests read-only access to X — never permission to post, like, follow, or send direct messages — and the plugin is open source under the MIT license so you can read exactly what runs inside your vault.
