Terms of Service

Pre-launch draft. This template is an initial working version and must be reviewed by a qualified human advisor before the service launches commercially.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Save2Obsidian, including our website, X account connection, processing service, dashboard, and Obsidian plugin (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service does

Save2Obsidian lets you request the saving of publicly accessible X posts by mentioning @save2obsidian. The Service processes available post text, metadata, thread context, links, and images into a markdown note. The Obsidian plugin then retrieves notes associated with your account and writes them into a folder you choose in your local vault.

Features may change during beta. Video posts currently save available text, context, and links; transcription is not yet part of the generally available Service.

3. Accounts and access

You sign in using X and receive a personal API key for the Obsidian plugin. You are responsible for keeping that key private and for activity performed using it. Tell us promptly if you believe your key has been exposed. You must provide accurate account information and must not impersonate another person.

4. Your content and permissions

As between you and Save2Obsidian, you retain ownership of the content you submit, save, or create through the Service, including your resulting markdown notes. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive permission to retrieve, process, store, and deliver that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

Posts on X may belong to third parties and remain subject to their rights and X’s terms. Saving a post does not transfer copyright or other rights to you. You are responsible for using saved material lawfully.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

6. Storage and infrastructure

Service account data and processed saves are stored using Cloudflare infrastructure. Your local Obsidian vault is controlled by you and is not hosted by Save2Obsidian. Internet services can fail, and you should maintain your own backups of important notes.

7. Beta service and availability

The Service is currently offered as a beta. We may add, remove, suspend, or change features, limits, or availability. We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee that every X post will remain available, process correctly, or sync without delay.

8. Fees and future subscriptions

Current beta features are free. If paid subscriptions launch, we will show the price, included credits, billing interval, and applicable terms before you purchase. Subscription payments are expected to be processed by Creem. We will not charge you without an affirmative purchase action.

9. Deletion and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request deletion of your account and Service-stored content by emailing support@save2obsidian.com. Deletion does not remove markdown notes already written to your local vault; you control those files directly.

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, or address a material breach of these Terms. Where practical, we will provide notice.

10. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or error-free output. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Save2Obsidian will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, business, or opportunities arising from use of the Service. Any aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the revised version and change the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms may be sent to support@save2obsidian.com.
